Every Friday from 5 to 8pm, we open bottles and pour tastes — no ticket, no catch, no cover. Just show up at 1128 W Armitage Ave and drink something worth knowing about. This Friday we've got a lineup that moves from the south of France to the highlands of Jalisco to the bitter heart of Milan. Three bottles. Zero overlap. All worth your time.
This is the kind of everyday Rhône that makes you question everything you've been spending on weeknight wine. Grenache-forward, with that warm southern French character — red fruit, a little garrigue, easy tannins. It drinks above its price point without trying too hard. If you've been sleeping on Côtes du Rhône as a category, this one's a good wake-up call.
Cascahuin is a family distillery out of El Arenal in the Tequila highlands, and they've been doing it right for over a century. This blanco is unaged and unapologetic — bright agave, citrus, a little mineral edge. It's the kind of tequila that reminds you why blanco exists. Sip it neat and pay attention. No mixer required.
The one that needs no introduction but always deserves one. Twenty-seven herbs, roots, and spices aged in oak. Bitter, complex, oddly medicinal in the best possible way. Whether you're a Fernet regular or you've been curious and never pulled the trigger, Friday's your moment. It pairs suspiciously well with both the tequila and a good conversation.
All three bottles are available in-store and online. Stock is limited, especially on the Cascahuin.
