Every Friday from 5–8pm, we open bottles and pour freely. No ticket, no reservation, no catch. Just show up at 1128 W Armitage Ave and drink something worth drinking.
This Friday we're pulling three bottles that don't apologize for having a point of view.
Cascahuin is the real deal. A family-owned distillery in El Arenal, Jalisco, they've been doing this since 1904 — long before "craft tequila" was a marketing term. This blanco is bright, herbal, and cooked-agave forward with a clean finish that makes you understand why serious agave drinkers seek it out. If you've been sleeping on highland blanco tequila, Friday is your wake-up call.
Love it or hate it, Fernet Branca demands a reaction. Twenty-seven herbs, roots, and spices aged in oak — this is one of the most distinctive bottles in the amaro world and has been since 1845. Bitter, minty, medicinal in the best way. It's a digestif, a bartender's handshake, and a palate challenge all in one glass. We're pouring it because it deserves to be tasted properly, not just slammed.
Grenache-dominant, Southern Rhône, the real thing. Châteauneuf-du-Pape gets thrown around a lot, but when it's right, it's earthy, rich, and complex in a way that sticks with you. This one delivers — garrigue, dark fruit, a little leather — everything you want from that appellation without paying through the roof for it.
Free tasting, every Friday 5–8pm. No ticket needed. Just walk in. 1128 W Armitage Ave, Lincoln Park, Chicago. Bottles available to take home same night.
