Every Friday from 5 to 8pm, we open some bottles and invite you in. No ticket, no reservation, no catch. Just good pours and good conversation at 1128 W Armitage Ave. This Friday is shaping up to be a strong one.
We're starting with Les Clefs du Caladas Côtes du Rhône ($25) — proof that the Southern Rhône punches well above its price. Grenache-forward, easy-drinking, with that garrigue earthiness that makes Rhône wines so addictive. If you think $25 French wine can't be serious, this bottle will change your mind.
Then we move into Cascahuin Tequila Blanco ($55). Cascahuin is a fourth-generation distillery in El Arenal, Jalisco, and they're doing things the right way — tahona-crushed agave, brick ovens, small batches. The blanco is bright, vegetal, and genuinely expressive. It's a great reminder that tequila at its best is just as complex and terroir-driven as any fine wine or whiskey.
And then there's Fernet Branca ($45). The amaro that needs no introduction, but deserves more respect than it gets. Bitter, herbal, bracingly complex — it's the kind of thing that divides the room, and we love that about it. Come see which side you're on.
These tastings are our favorite part of the week — a chance to slow down, explore something new, and talk about what's in the glass. Whether you're a regular or walking in for the first time, you're welcome. Adam and the team will be there to walk you through each pour and answer any questions.
No pressure to buy. Though fair warning — most people leave with at least one bottle.
Free tasting, 5–8pm every Friday. 1128 W Armitage Ave, Lincoln Park. No ticket needed — just show up.
