Every Friday from 5 to 8pm, we open bottles and you show up. That's the whole deal. No reservation, no ticket, no cover — just come by 1128 W Armitage Ave and taste something worth talking about. This week, we're pouring three bottles that could not be more different from each other, and yet somehow feel like they belong in the same conversation.
This is what blanco tequila is supposed to taste like. Cascahuin is a small, family-owned distillery in El Arenal, Jalisco — old school in the best possible way. Cooked in a stone oven, fermented naturally, double-distilled in copper pot stills. The result is bright, earthy, and genuinely alive. If you think tequila is just for shots, this one will change your mind.
Love it or hate it, Fernet Branca demands your respect. This Italian amaro has been around since 1845 for a reason. It's bitter, herbal, complex, and completely uncompromising. If you've never tried it neat or alongside a shot of espresso, Friday is your moment. And if you're already a Fernet devotee, you already know why we're pouring it.
Southern Rhône at its most expressive. Grenache-driven, rich but not heavy, with that signature garrigue — wild herbs, dark fruit, a little leather. Châteauneuf-du-Pape gets its reputation honestly, and this bottle is a great example of why the appellation matters. Pour this next to the Fernet and tell us the universe isn't balanced.
Free tastings every Friday, 5–8pm at Off Premise — 1128 W Armitage Ave, Lincoln Park. No ticket needed. Just walk in.
