Condesa Gin Clasica Gin

$40.00
Condesa Gin Clásica is an extra-dry gin distilled in Mexico City and built around the botanical lexicon of Mexican curandera cleansing ceremonies. Where London dry gins hew to juniper-forward restraint, Clásica layers twelve botanicals—palo santo, myrrh, sage, jasmine, elderflower, lavender, rosemary, cedrón, lime peel, orange peel, coriander seed, and juniper berry—into a floral, citrus-driven spirit that tastes as much like ritual incense as it does classic gin. The formula is designed to honor the hierbas de limpia de energia negativa and flores para atraer el amor used in traditional Mexican healing, and the result is a gin that reads as both meditative and unambiguously aromatic. At 43% ABV, it carries enough proof to anchor a martini without drowning the botanicals that make it distinct from London or American dry styles. The distillery behind Condesa operates in Mexico City, a region not historically associated with gin production but rich in the raw materials that make this bottle work. Palo santo and myrrh—resinas que amplían la consciencia—are sourced domestically and contribute a warming, slightly bitter backbone that distinguishes Clásica from juniper-only expressions. The sage, cedrón, and rosemary bring herbal clarity; jasmine, elderflower, and lavender supply floral lift; lime and orange peel provide citrus brightness without veering into sweetness. The production method infuses all twelve botanicals together, creating a unified aromatic profile rather than a layered distillate, which is why the gin tastes cohesive despite the botanical count. On the palate, Condesa Gin Clásica opens with juniper and citrus peel, then moves quickly into floral and herbal territory—jasmine and elderflower up front, sage and rosemary in the middle, palo santo and myrrh anchoring the finish with resinous warmth and a faint bitterness. The mouthfeel is dry, the finish long and slightly woody. It works in a gin and tonic with a lime wheel, where the tonic's quinine complements the myrrh's bitterness, or in a martini if you want floral complexity without vermouth doing all the work. It also suits highballs built with grapefruit or tonic and garnished with rosemary, and it pairs well with ceviche, aguachile, or any dish where citrus and herbs are already in play.
