Sourced from old vines across the Niederösterreich, this is a fabulous introduction to the world of skin-contact wines. About 20% of the wine stays on the skins for 30 days, while the remaining 80% gets just 5 hours of contact, creating a beautifully balanced, juicy, and approachable style. In the glass, it’s light in body and fresh in spirit—closer to a textured white than a heavy, oxidative orange. Aromas of bruised apple, poached pear, and a whisper of smoky bacon lead into a creamy, rounded palate. Expect a mix of crunchy apple acidity, ripe peach fruit, and a steely, mouthwatering finish that keeps you coming back for another sip. Josef and Eva Maria Bauer craft this wine in the Wagram’s Grossriedenthal area, where their biodynamic practices and deep respect for the land help their wines reflect true regional character. Grapes are hand-harvested from loess soils, spontaneously fermented, and bottled in a cheerful 1L size—perfect for sharing (or not).
