Las Cartas Cabernet Sauvignon is a Chilean red from the Maipo Valley, produced by Ventisquero as part of their Las Cartas line, a name that translates to "the letters," meant to evoke a love letter from the vineyard to the glass. The wine opens with an expressive, inviting nose built around a mix of red and black fruit: strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and blackcurrants all show up together, giving it more brightness and lift than a typical warm-climate Cabernet. Underneath the fruit sit secondary notes of black pepper, caramel, tobacco, and a light touch of chocolate, adding some savory depth and complexity to the aromatics. On the palate, it's well balanced and medium to full bodied, with good structure and lively acidity keeping things fresh rather than heavy.
