Michele Satta is one of the founding voices of Bolgheri, having planted roots in the region before it became the celebrated appellation it is today. This Bolgheri Rosso is his entry point — and it punches well above its category. A blend built around Sangiovese with support from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah, it captures the distinctive character of the Tuscan coast: ripe and generous, yet with enough structure and freshness to keep it from feeling heavy. Expect dark cherry, blackberry, and a hint of Mediterranean scrub — that wild, sun-warmed herb quality that runs through so much of this coastal territory. The oak is present but restrained, adding a touch of spice and roundness without dominating the fruit. What makes this wine worth reaching for is its balance.
