2020 Voerzio Martini Barolo

A classic, terroir-driven Barolo from the Voerzio Martini estate in La Morra, the corner of the zone known for its more perfumed, elegant style of Nebbiolo. 100% Nebbiolo, traditionally vinified and aged in large oak. The 2020 is dark-fruited and savory — spiced cherries, dark plum, mocha, and walnut on the nose, leading to a full-bodied palate with firm, broad, ripe tannins and the structure to age. James Suckling called it a dark-fruited Barolo showing spiced cherries, mocha, walnuts and dark plums, with a full-bodied palate and firm, ripe tannins, best after 2026. A serious, food-loving bottle for Sunday braises, brasato al Barolo, or aged hard cheeses. Drink now with decanting or cellar through the early 2030s.
