Antucura Chérie Sparkling Rosé is a 100% Pinot Noir sparkling wine from Vista Flores in Argentina's Uco Valley, a high-altitude region at the base of the Andes in Mendoza. What sets it apart is the dramatic diurnal temperature swing at elevation, which allows the grapes to ripen fully while retaining the kind of bright natural acidity that defines serious traditional-method sparkling wine. The winemaking follows classic technique: minimal skin contact of just a few hours for color extraction, followed by gentle pressing and cool fermentation to preserve freshness, resulting in a pale salmon-to-coral wine with fine, persistent bubbles. The Uco Valley sits at roughly 1,100 meters above sea level, and the altitude contributes both to the wine's structure and its aromatic clarity. Antucura works with estate fruit from Vista Flores, where the Andean terroir delivers intense sunlight during the day and cold nights that slow sugar accumulation and lock in acidity. The traditional sparkling method means secondary fermentation in bottle, which accounts for the yeasty, toasted complexity layered over the primary fruit.
