Comahue Malbec Estate Patagonia

$22.00
Comahue Malbec Estate Patagonia comes from one of Argentina's coolest, most remote wine regions — the high desert vineyards of northern Patagonia, where intense sun and cold nights produce Malbec with vivid aromatics and taut structure. The estate fruit here ripens slowly against the backdrop of the Andes, yielding wines that trade the plush weight of Mendoza for precision and lift. The Comahue project farms estate vineyards in the Río Negro valley, a narrow ribbon of green flanked by arid plateau and mountain snowmelt. Patagonian Malbec thrives in alluvial soils where diurnal swings exceed thirty degrees, preserving acidity while the fruit ripens fully. The winemaking is straightforward — fermentation in stainless steel, a short rest in neutral oak to integrate without masking the bright, floral character the region delivers naturally. The nose opens with violets and then unfolds into plum and red raspberry, the fruit clear and vivid rather than jammy. The palate is well structured, with enough tannin to anchor roasted lamb or grilled skirt steak, but the acidity keeps everything bright and complex. This is Malbec for the table — pour it with chimichurri-slicked meats, aged Manchego, or anything that benefits from a wine with drive and aromatic lift.
