Giuseppe Savini "Rondineto" Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC

This red comes from Fattoria Giuseppe Savini's own vineyards in the hills of Morro d'Oro and Notaresco in the province of Teramo. The vines face south and southeast at about 300 meters, on calcareous clay soils. The Montepulciano grapes are picked in mid-October, gently pressed, and macerated on the skins for 15–20 days. The wine then finishes fermentation and rests in temperature-controlled stainless steel, with no oak, before bottling. Tasting notes: Ruby red with violet highlights. The nose shows blackberry, red currant, and violet, with a hint of black pepper. The palate is round and full, with velvety tannins, juicy dark fruit, and a savory, lingering finish.
