Markou Vineyards Emeis Red
$25.00
Attica, Greece – Mandilaria 50% | Agiorgitiko 50% – Carbonic Maceration A vibrant meeting of island and mainland, Emeis (“Us” in Greek) unites two of Greece’s most distinctive red varieties—Mandilaria from the Aegean islands and Agiorgitiko from the Peloponnese. Crafted by Markou Vineyards, one of Attica’s historic family estates, this blend celebrates both regional diversity and a modern, fruit-driven style. Sourced from dry-farmed vines aged 20–40 years, grown on limestone-rich soils in Kantza and Spata, the grapes are fermented using carbonic maceration, a gentle process that preserves freshness and bright fruit character. The result is a light ruby wine bursting with aromas of red forest fruit, strawberries, and sour cherries, supported by lively acidity and silky tannins. Juicy, fresh, and effortless to drink, Emeis showcases the playful, aromatic side of Greek reds—perfect slightly chilled with mezze, roasted vegetables, or grilled lamb skewers.
