59.4% ABV Named for the small ferry port on Islay's northeast coast, Port Askaig Cask Strength is a bold, unfiltered portrait of the island. It's bottled by Elixir Distillers in small batches of no more than 60 casks, drawn mainly from refill ex-bourbon barrels with a portion of freshly toasted American oak. It's bottled at full natural strength, without chill filtration or added color, so nothing stands between you and the spirit. Nose: Bright lemon and lime zest, cracked black pepper, and warm toasted bread, deepening into bitter-orange marmalade, beach-bonfire smoke, and a salty sea breeze. Palate: Powerful yet surprisingly silky. Fresh citrus and briny minerality lead into charred orange peel, vanilla custard, and baking spice, all wrapped in a thick blanket of peat smoke. Finish: Long and warming, with smoldering embers, toffee sweetness, and a final lick of sea salt.
