Van Duzer Estate Pinot Gris

Van Duzer Estate Pinot Gris

$28.00
From one of the Willamette Valley's most distinctive and windswept estates, Van Duzer's Pinot Gris is shaped from the ground up by the unique conditions of the Van Duzer Corridor — the dramatic gap in the Oregon Coast Range through which cool Pacific air funnels each afternoon, moderating temperatures and extending the growing season in ways that few other sites in the valley can replicate. It is a terroir that leaves its mark on everything grown here, and the Pinot Gris is no exception. The 2025 vintage arrives with a luminous straw-gold color, hinting at the richness within while retaining a freshness that speaks to the estate's cool-climate character. The nose is inviting and layered — ripe pear, white peach and honeydew melon at the fore, threaded through with notes of ginger, white blossom and a subtle waxy richness that is the hallmark of well-grown Pinot Gris. There is a pleasing textural quality to the aromatics, suggesting a wine of some weight and presence. On the palate it delivers on that promise — medium to full bodied, with a creamy, rounded texture balanced by a clean, bracing acidity that keeps the wine fresh and precise. Flavors of ripe apple, poached pear and citrus pith unfold alongside a gentle spice and a mineral, almost stony undercurrent that anchors the wine and gives it real length and definition. The finish is long, clean and satisfying.
