Jalisco Highlands (Los Altos)

Los Altos — the highland tequila region east of Guadalajara, climbing toward Arandas and Atotonilco. Higher elevation, red iron-rich soils, cooler nights. Agaves grow more slowly and develop a sweeter, more floral and citric profile. The Camarena, Vivanco, and Beckmann families have shaped the modern image of premium tequila from these hills.
