His Cornas vines grow in soils where decomposed granite mingles with gneiss and a clay topsoil layer, a combination that tempers the appellation's typically iron-fisted tannin structure. The 2019 vintage was warm across the Rhône, and the clay here played a crucial role in water retention, preventing the vines from shutting down and preserving aromatic lift. Farge ferments with native yeast and ages in a mix of neutral barrel and concrete, allowing the site's mineral signature to speak without oak overlay. The 2019 'Les Versantes' shows black olive, cured meat, and crushed stone alongside dark plum and violet, with tannins that grip but don't punish.
