2021 Albert Boxler Riesling

Domaine Albert Boxler in Niedermorschwihr is one of Alsace's most storied family estates, with roots tracing back to 1673. Now in the hands of Jean Boxler, grandson of Albert, the domaine has become a benchmark for the region, with its Rieslings celebrated for their purity, precision, and extraordinary sense of place. The Sommerberg Grand Cru hillside essentially ends at Jean's driveway, and this intimate relationship with the land is reflected in every bottle. Wines are vinified and aged in old foudres in a small cellar beneath the family home, a tradition that has remained largely unchanged for generations. The 2021 vintage in Alsace began with a cool, wet spring before giving way to some of the sunniest conditions the region had seen in early September, producing wines of remarkable freshness and concentration. This entry-level Riesling showcases the domaine's hallmark texture and terroir-driven style, with the granite slopes lending a distinctive minerality that runs through the entire palate.
