Lost Lore High Proof Reposado
$95.00
Lost Lore was born from family legacy. Founder Arturo Lamas III grew up knowing his great-grandfather had been a traditional agave spirits maker, a craft that had gone quiet over the generations. That curiosity became a mission, and Lost Lore became the vehicle for bringing it back. The tequila is made at NOM 1414, the Vivanco Family distillery in Arandas, deep in the red clay highlands of Los Altos, Jalisco, under the hand of master distiller Sergio Cruz. 100% blue Weber agave is cooked in traditional stone and brick ovens, crushed on a roller mill, fermented with champagne yeast in stainless steel tanks, and double distilled in copper pot stills. No additives, confirmed by Tequila Matchmaker. The High Proof Reposado takes that foundation and lets it rest for up to 12 months in former American whiskey barrels before bottling at elevated proof, somewhere in the neighborhood of 98 to 100 proof depending on the edition. The extra ABV makes a real difference here, amplifying the agave character and keeping the oak influence in its proper place as seasoning rather than the main event. The nose opens with roasted agave, vanilla, and warm baking spice. On the palate, cooked agave leads into caramel, black pepper, cinnamon, and toasted oak, with a richness and weight that the higher proof delivers without heat or harshness. The finish is long and satisfying, with lingering spice and a clean fade.
