The Rums of Mexico (700 ml) 'Panela' Rum, Veracruz (95.2 proof)
$55.00
To make this unique aguardiente, maestro aguardientero Orlando Vásquez mills freshly cut sugar cane, slowly boils it, and then passes the resulting juice into cone-shaped wooden molds where it hardens. The outcome is an unrefined whole cane sugar that is referred to locally as Panela. The cones are re-hydrated and fermented with spring water. Orlando then proceeds to distill that mash in his four-plate, continuous copper still. MXRUMS represents a selection of Mexico's finest makers of both traditional and modern cane spirits — often called aguardientes, catita, chinguirito, or simply rum. With dozens of cane varieties, extensive terroir, and a handful of unique production methods, MXRUMS shares with you just a slice of the beauty to be found amongst The Rums of Mexico. 95.2 proof. 700ml. Imported by PM Spirits LLC.
