Cañada-region blend named for the Ithomia Leila — a slow-flying, glass-winged cloud-forest butterfly. Java-varietal cane juice fermented in pine tanks with ambient yeast, distilled on both pot and Krassel stills. Four-part blend: two Krassel-still lots aged 27 months in new French oak then finished 18 and 13 months in new Hungarian oak; a pot-still lot aged 28 months in new French oak then finished 13 months in Hungarian; a pot-still lot aged 42 months in ex-Cognac. Nose: orange peel, drinking chocolate, toasted cacao. Palate: orange soda, apple cider, bitter sugar, toasted grape jam, palo de chile, a hint of cucumber. Bottled at cask strength — 58.3% ABV, no water, no sugar, no coloring. 600 bottles total. Imported by PM Spirits. Drop your email and we'll let you know when it lands.
