Condesa Gin Prickly Pear & Orange Blossom Gin
$40.00
Condesa Gin Prickly Pear & Orange Blossom is a Mexico City extra dry gin built around two ingredients that define Mexican springtime: xoconostle (desert prickly pear) and azahar (orange blossom). At 43% ABV, the botanical bill balances indigenous cactus fruit with juniper berries, coriander seeds, raspberry, and fresh Mexican lime zest. The result is a bright, fragrant expression that trades London Dry austerity for the sun-soaked terroir of central Mexico. The gin is distilled in Mexico City, where the altitude and climate shape the final character. Juniper anchors the classic gin profile, but the prickly pear brings a subtle vegetal sweetness and faint berry note, while orange blossom contributes a floral lift that never tips into perfume. The lime zest and coriander seed add citrus sharpness and warmth in the finish. The botanical recipe reads like a walk through a Mexican mercado during spring bloom—familiar gin structure, but every layer pulled from local terroir rather than imported spice routes. On the nose, you'll find orange blossom forward, followed by juniper and a soft raspberry undercurrent. The palate is clean and dry, with prickly pear adding texture rather than overt sweetness, and the lime zest cutting through with bright acidity. The finish is crisp, lightly floral, and long enough to carry a tonic or a simple highball without disappearing. Use it in a gin and tonic with a lime wheel, or lean into the floral-citrus profile in a Tom Collins or a Corpse Reviver No. 2. It's equally at home in a Martini for drinkers who want a slightly softer, more aromatic take on the classic.
