El Occidental Mezcal Espadin

El Occidental is an artisanal mezcal produced in Oaxaca, Mexico, crafted from 100% organic Espadín agave (Agave angustifolia). True to tradition, the agave hearts are roasted in earthen pits, crushed with a stone wheel, fermented naturally in open wooden vats, and distilled twice in copper stills. The nose is herbal and floral, with earthy undertones and inviting hints of tobacco, cocoa, vanilla, and leather. On the palate it is fresh and mineral-driven, medium bodied, with the warmth of roasted agave giving way to notes of cocoa, leather, and a touch of tobacco. The finish is smooth and savory with a subtle, salty character that speaks clearly of its Oaxacan origins.
