El Occidental Mezcal Papalote
$55.00
El Occidental Mezcal Papalote is produced in Axaxacualco, Guerrero, Mexico, crafted from 100% organic Papalote agave (Agave cupreata), a wild variety native to Guerrero that lends a distinctly different character from the more common Espadín. The agaves are roasted for three days in earthen pits, crushed with a mechanical mill, fermented outdoors in large wooden vats, and double distilled in copper stills. Intense and floral on the nose, with a creamy, inviting quality that sets Papalote apart from other agave varieties. The palate is crisp and herbal, with mineral depth, a lush texture, and lingering hints of tobacco. The finish is long and floral, with a subtle savory edge that reflects both the wild agave and the rugged terroir of Guerrero.
