Puntagave "Ceramic" Double Barrel Tequila Añejo
Tequila
$110.00
Puntagave's Ceramic Double Barrel Añejo represents the pinnacle of the brand's Artisanal lineup — a limited-edition expression that brings together exceptional aging technique, proprietary production methods, and striking collectible packaging. Made from 100% highland-grown Blue Agave (Tequilana Weber) sourced from Jesús María, Jalisco, this tequila is crafted using 120-year-old copper pot stills, with only the heart of each distillation retained for the final blend. True to Puntagave's Artisanal philosophy, the agave is deliberately undercooked — a closely guarded technique developed by Maestro Tequilero Guillermo Barroso Arnaud, only the second certified Maestro Tequilero in the world, through 52 exhaustive recipe revisions. This purposeful undercooking sacrifices sugar yield in exchange for a brighter, more expressive, high-agave flavor profile. After distillation, the tequila is aged in two successive barrel types — New American Oak followed by New French Oak — a double-barrel process that builds complexity and depth while keeping the agave character front and center. The spirit is then bottled in a handmade ceramic decanter, a functional and artistic choice: unlike glass, ceramic allows the spirit to continue evolving after bottling, gently homogenizing its volatile compounds over time for an increasingly smooth and settled profile. The label artwork is a collaboration with the artist COCOLVU, making each bottle a genuine collectible. On the nose, expect a mature balance of citrus, sweet cooked agave, and warm oak. The palate offers layers of dried sweet fruit, hazelnut, and cedar, leading into a long, refined finish. This is a tequila for those who appreciate both the craft of production and the art of aging — limited to just 500 bottles
